Supporting the Cartoon Art Museum at Pixar

Here is an awesome event going towards a good cause that I found on Matt Inman's theOatmeal. On Saturday, November 10th, Pixar is holding a benefit to raise money for the Cartoon Art Museum. The event is being held at Pixar in Emeryville, CA from 3pm to 8pm.

As part of the benefit, guests will get a tour of the studio's main gallery and get to see the pre-production artwork from Brave, watch drawing demonstrations, shop at  the Pixar Gift Shop, partake in various presentations and Q&A sessions with Pixar people, and meet Matt Inman, who apparently will draw you a picture if you ask nicely.

I used to work at the University Book Store up in Seattle where Matt Inman would stop by during his book tours. I unfortunately missed out when he was there for "5 Very Good Reasons to Punch a Dolphin in the Mouth" and I had already left for California when he went on tour for "How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You". Not only are his comics awesome, but it would be amazing to meet the person who turned a ridiculous lawsuit into a fundraiser that raised over $200,000 towards the National Wildlife Conservation and the American Cancer Society, and more recently raised $1.3 million to save the Tesla Tower and build a Tesla museum.

I would love to be able to go but unfortunately ticket prices are $500. Sad face. For those who have the money, I totally recommend to go. Not only are you donating for a great cause but you get to meet awesome people and see amazing work at Pixar.
