The Citrus Cel Animation Festival is a 3 day event in Jacksonville, Florida where people gather to celebrate animation as a cultural and commercial medium. Citrus Cel will act as a hub for students and professionals from the fields of animation, design, illustration, and film. The coming festival will be hosted by Dripsblack and The Florida Theater from April 4-6, 2013. Citrus Cel is still open and accepting submissions! The film submissions is up and there is also a juried art show in storytelling. Both submissions' deadline is January 31st, 2013. Entry is free. The Animation Film Festival is accepting films in the categories of animated features, short films, student short films, movie and TV title sequences, broadcast advertisements, animated music videos, visual effects, classic animation, experimental and mixed media, 3D animation, 2D animation, stop motion, gaming animation, and children's animation.
Open to students only, Citrus Cel is looking for strong, well-made narrative works to correspond with the Animation Film Festival. The exhibition will be a major counterpart to the festival to celebrate great design in animation and illustration. Types of work that can be submitted include general narrative works, concept designs, character designs, storyboards, graphic novels, and children's books.
